August 1938
Editor: Elizabeth Penrose

Vogue editors M. De Brunhoff and Duchesse d’Ayen broadcast on NBC Radio from the Paris Collections to listeners in New York, while kerchiefs are quite the rage and the magazine is moving more towards using photographs over illustrations at last.

The season's clothes, unveiled at Paris collections, pay homage to the 1860 and, in the beauty pages of the book, women who are looking to lose weight or maintain their figure are encouraged to adapt a low calorie diet or go on a starvation diet. The starvation diet consisted of remaining in bed and only eating eight to ten oranges per day.

hihihi!!!! so great.

ELEGANCE! listen and endure.

Degas!

I was looking at Degas wonderful paintings, full of balett dancers, and came to think of ALL my dancer years. So much struggle. BUT so beautiful it is at the same time. So much GRACE in movement.

Here are many works by this master, not only in the dance school, but also from the realities of life. Which is also full of Beauty.

So FUCKING perfect!!!!!!

HAPPY!

i am fortunate to have a job where I get to meet so many talented excting people (PLUS so many lovable one), just those sorts that you get inspired by. AND you learn something new fantastic from each and one of them. Alice (as in Shulman) got me into Hans Bellmer. Amazing artist (surrealist photographer and Illustrator etc).

Another Alice:

I met with Alice shulman today, she is designing her final collection for Beckmans ( Sweden's coolest and best design school) and I am helping her with the styling for her art project, a magazine overtly big. i found she is SO CUTE and talented at the same time. She send me a fantasy image, which was inspiring for the collection and I just DIED. She is the BEST illustrator. I mean I am IN LOVE with her designs (but can not show anything here), but then I saw her Alice fantasy world (her mom read Alice in Wonderland when Alice was a baby in her mom's stomach), and I am just IN LOVE WITH IT. Hope you can separate the pictures. One s with me and her, filled with love between friends.

The Dark Chapter

many years ago in New York, I had a first time meeting with a photographer gir, Meaghan who then assisted Glen Luchford. It was so lovely to get to know her then and to find such a talented person. and we planned to work soon together. I can credit her for my interest in Art.

I got to see her updated portfolio on the web and I just fell in love all over again. Just go in their for yourself and take a DEEP look at her PERSONAL PORTFOLIO. The one i fell deep and hard for is called The Dark Period. It shows you how vulnerable this girl is, it's just this feeling of communication that shines through a true artist MUST have. She has it!! Her picutures here, can make me cry. I don't know out of happiness or sadness.

Then go on to view her Journal 2001, the year of September 11.

love you Meaghan.
