The purpose of the Bible stories is not so much to show you how to live a good life but to show you how God's grace breaks into your life against your will, and rescues you from the sins and brokenness, which you would never see, would never be able to overcome. That’s what you see on every page of the Bible. And that's not religion; that's the Gospel!
