Mad Edie
Edie was a dreamer
Edie was a case
She mentioned the unmentionable
And they put her in her place.
She gave away her wonder
She gave away her bread
She gave away her fancy
And wished that she was dead.
Her head was filled with sorrow
Her head was filled with gloom
She listened to the radio
And would not leave her room.
When Edie dreamed of heaven
Her soul soared like a bird
When Edie dreamed of money
They told her she was cured.
How she loved the parties!
How she loved the men!
How she loved the clever words
That brought her down again.

Wow! I just discovered your blog and am LOVING it! Audrey Hepburn is a favorite (the pic of her and her deer is actually on my blog!) and I also adore the painting at the top of the left column of your blog...
And Edie, what can I say... She's always so expressive and exquisite!
Dear Mary-Laure:
I have Always ADORED Audrey because of her sense of being good to this world.
We all, should feel the need to do the same.
So happy you found me, you sound very sweet.
love to you.
What can i say there are people who have charm...
Edie was one of them.
