Victoria and Albert Museum: Baroque Style in the Age of Magnificence

I'm going to this exhibit with a new friend of mine on Saturday. So I thought I'd do some research first and then let you know next week what I thought about the art they are showing.

It is including works by Rubens and Bernini, as well as furniture from Louis XIV’s Palace at Versailles. This exhibition conjures up the majesty of baroque interiors. From the 1620's to the 1800's.

Sounds Very Intriguing, since it's my favorite time period in all sorts of arts. I have a feeling of me getting Overwhelmed by Beauty. Hope so.

It's on until the 19th of July 2009.

You can either love or hate baroque - i mostly like it and find it very inspiring, but there are a few pieces of art made in baroque style (like the baldhacin in st. peter, vatican by bernini) that are just horrible:). Hope you get some inspiration from that exhibition!:)

I have totally forgotten about the Stephen Jones exhibit. I will have to go to that as well.
