Her name is Mia Wasikowska and is an Australian actress, born in 1990. She originally was studying ballet, but in 2006 she decided to focus on acting.
She is currently working in the HBO series, In Treatment, and was recently announced to play Alice in Tim Burton's adaption of Alice in Wonderland......
A couple of films she will be in and soon to be released is: Defiance and Amelia.

I'm so excited about Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland! and this girl is perfect for the role :)
she looks so lovely.
I've never seen her perform, but I hope you are right; that she really is perfect for the role of Alice.
